The deadline for entering 2014 Q School is just days away! You must get your entry in by 12pm THIS FRIDAY (April 4th) to take part in Q School in May.

The entry fee is £600 and there are 8 two-year tour cards on the World Snooker circuit up for grabs. For the first time, the event will be held at the Capital Venue in Gloucester.

Gareth Green played in Q School last year and he's got his name down again this time. Though he didn't earn a tour card last time, he finished high enough on the Q School ranking list to earn entry into several ranking events this season. He qualified for the final stages of the Wuxi Classic and played against Judd Trump at the UK Championship.

"I think Q School is a great system because it gives more players opportunities," he said. "Even though I missed out on a tour card I have got to play in a lot of the big events this season which has been a great experience and has helped me improve as a player, so when I do get on the tour I will be ready for it.

"I really enjoyed playing in Wuxi and in the UK in York, to find out what it's like playing in a major event. I'm looking forward to Q School in May, I know it will be tough but I'll give it my best shot."

There are two consecutive tournaments, and the semi-finalists in each of the two events are given a place on the tour. It is open to players of all ages and nationalities (subject to terms and conditions).

A ranking list will be compiled during Q School, with players earning one point for every frame won. During the main tour season, should any of the tournament draws fall below a total entry of 128 then the field will be topped up with the highest ranked players from the Q-School list who have not gained one of the 8 tour cards.
