The Bci Senior Snooker Final Championships 2011 is under way......

Refereed by Mr Paul Wainwright Class 3 referee

Frame 1
A cautious start to the best of 9 match by both players, colours running a little awkward. Jon having a good run of the balls but not really making the most of them, Keith finding himself in trouble when getting to the table, playing the full miss rule. A superb snooker by Mr Holgate was enought to see him pollish off the first frame to go 1-0 ahead!!!

Frame 2
Very little to separate the two players in the second fram some good well taken mini breaks by both player. Jon looking a bit more settled in this second frame going down to the colours. Jon with spells of good run having two great chances on the colours only needing two, potting the one and snookering himself on frame ball!!! Killer Keith playing some great key shots and delivering the key blow to jon coming back to take the second frame to go 2-0 up.

Frame 3
Keith opens up with another cracinkg 20+ contribution, Jon pots cracking long red and closes the gap with a well takenbreak of 20. Keiths solid safety crafts another great chance for another good contribution! Looking very good 34 point up with one red remaining!!! Keith plays another great snooker and pots the last red to take the third frame going 3-0 up!!!

Welcome to the action Sean Croft and Bash who has just joined us!!! Bash looking very cool in his shirt and Jesus sandles as we head into the 4th!!!

Frame 4
A much needed frame for Jon if he is to have any chance I feel in this final! Jon gets off to a much needed good start with a superbly taken break of 41! Keith the solid match player he is still in the frame as we are now on the final blue! Some great snookers by Jon but Keith manages to escape safely! Good safety by both players on this final blue, jon 14 ahead with 18 on, a rub of the green by jon gives him a chance as he pots the blue to take a much needed frame 3-1 now!!!

In running report.

Blinking hell, mason playing well and could pull another frame hack. I just noticed that masons eyes are actually closed when he takes his final stroke. It's one of the signs of the free masons.

:thx: Thanx Bash for that update

Frame 5
A much needed frame under the belt by Jon, who opens this 5th frame with a new fount surge to open up a good early lead. Keith as always the master tactician muscles his way back into the frame with some great solid match play to pull a ahead further to extend his lead to 4-1.

Frame 6
Keith with the finishing line clearly in his sights now opens with a solid 30+ contribution. Jon with it all to do now hits back with some good key mini contributions to get back into this frame keeping his hopes alive down to the colours in this 6th frame. Jon misses a blue over the centre pocket made tricky by the awkward cueing with the white near the jaws of the black corner pocket, and Killer Keith delivers the Killer blow as he goes on to take the Bci Senior Snooker Championship Crown 2011.

:welldone: Congratulations Keith winnng his second Bci Senior Snooker Title   :bravo:

:welldone: Jon Mason, finishing runners up in this great prestigious championships, i'm sure your be back next year M8  :bravo:

A exciting final, no huge breaks a 42 by Mr Mason and a countless number of 20+,& 30+ with some great solid match play and Top draw safety by both players. I think the match was alot closer than the scoreline may suggest at 5-1 credit to Mr Mason for hanging in there against a very tough and worthy champion Mr Killer keith Holgate!!!

A huge thank you to Mr Paul wainwright for his excellent refereeing spot on matey  :bravo:

Bash had his sticker ready saying Excellent Ref but never had the chance to put it on your back Mate Lol!!!

Thanks Bci for a superb match table and top draw conditions for both players and all the spectators in making it a great venue for Big finals!!!

Apologies to keith and mason for me turning up a little late. this was due to me be tied up in watching the great game between ferere and dokivic. What a match it was. Federer back to his best and endind such a fanatastic run of 43 unbeaten matches from dokovich. As W. T would say, it was tennis of the top draw and really exciting to watch.

as for the game between mason and keith, there was excellent safety with some good potting. Keith wouldn't mind me saying he wasn't at his best but mason couldn't take full advantage as he never really got going himself. But his break of 42 was again from the top draw.

Thanks for paul wainwright for giving up his time for refereeing. Well done paul and very well refereed.

This time i put the sticker on your wife's back saying "My Husband is a top bloke and a top ref" - well done paul and thanks for giving up your time.

thats all from me.

Keith Holgate

Well it seems it's time for me to make my first post!

Firstly, I have to say well done to 8pints for getting to the final by beating Jamie, who in my opinion is one of the best players we have in Nottingham, in a match where Jamie knocked in a 95 break!! with Jon running out the winner 4-3.
Sadly for 8, he wasn't able to produce the same standard in the final, though he did have the best break in the match, played some superb safety when on the blue and pink, in separate frames. Jon didn't do a deal wrong, I think I just out safetied him.

A big thank you to Pete and Carol, who always make us very welcome, and are genuinely interested in the snooker, maybe make the final best of 11 next time, I think it was far too short!!!

Thanks to Paul for reffing the match, it made things a lot easier for Jon and I.

Thanks to Kwokky for being so enthusiastic and supporting us both.

A special thanks goes to Paul and Jayne, for not opening their nuts during the frame, it was of course followed by "nut frenzy" whilst the ref was setting the balls up!

It was an enjoyable final, just a shame that neither of us scored well when we got the chances.
I have to say though, that I was glad I wasn't watching!

That's the end of my first post, I'm off to get the golf clubs out now, I'm sure I can get a 100 or more at that game.

Love to all - Keith.

Well done Keith and Congrats on your first post.

Anyway, I knew I shouldn't have gone to this Derby comp with my new tip. I just lost in the group stage yo Hopkins 3-1 and kwok 3-2. I will probably never hear the end of it. You all know I am not one for excuses, but I was genuinely not happy with the tip, didn't finish last night till 4am and hardly slept. It's the first timr o have made excuses on the forum and I hope you understand. I really came to bed in my tiip but I now regret it. I have just bit the top off and on my way back.

I feel even more lonely than before.  I think I need to sort my tip out before playing in company. I feel sleepy now. C u later.

Many congratulations to Keith on retaining his BCI crown  :welldone: Hard luck Jonathan but tremendous effort on making the final. Well done to Paul for refereeing it makes life so much easier for the players. Sorry I was not able to attend. Great result for Keith as the competiition was full of some very good players and the format of best of 7's and best of 9's is very much appreciated by the better players and produces a very worthy winner. Also a special mention to Kwok who is a credit to BCI for his undying enthusiasm which we are very thankful.
