Arnold Away. Always a good friendly attitude when we go to Oakleigh and last night was no exception. Alan CUNNINGHAM played Spider and Alan manage to get away and was 40 in front with one red left, knowing that he want at lease 2 snookers Spider then opened up and took the last red with a colour followed by the Y, G and brown but managed to snooker himself on the blue. Was not able to get out of it and conceded 28-60.  Stan CANDLER was cruising,20 odd in front, when he took the last red - knowing that the yellow was over its own bag he went for the brown which he potted but ran in-off in the middle. The Oakleigh player took the Y, G, B, B and Pink, which ment he was leading 47-46. Both players were then chasing the black but Stan came out victorious. Andy NICHOLS' was a close frame and was ONE behind after his opponent went in-off leaving the red over the yellow bag and the white 'in-hand'. Playing the red - it rattled the jaws and his opponent eventually took all the colours. 55-27  In the doubles Alan & Stan shut out the 2 Oakleigh lads who only managed to score 9 and conceded on the green.   Arnold 3-1.
The Home leg was a dour struggle - Sean KELLY lost the first leg, but Ken CUNNINGHAM and Bill BURTON (75 & & 74 yrs respectively) pulled it round to 2-1. The Doubles, which Oakleigh won, didnt get started till after 10.10pm and got finished at 11pm.
