bash won 4-0 with a 56, 46 and a couple of 30's.

Malc struggled with the table but i guess that's "home advantage" for me.

Bash Maqsood 4 keith Holgate 0

It was nice to see Keith as it was the first time I seen him since 2004 when we met in the Notts Amateur final.

I played reasonably well with  breaks of 48 and 37 (plus  a couple of low thirties).

Keith struggled and didn't really "show up" - which I am sure he wont mind me saying.

I did get a good running of the balls which as you know always goes with the player playing better.

I am sure I caught Keith on an off day and he will give me a tougher match next time.

Bad luck Keith.

Just to say, Keith has a great snooker room with a lovely table -it's given me an incentive to have a table at my house one day !!!

P.s  Match played early due to Bash being unavailable from middle of next next week till late January.

cheers all,  Bash

Alright Bash, That's a great result over the Premier League Un-beaten Leader Keith. Must be music to the rest of the premier league players ears as Keith Holgate looking to run away with the title race with a superb impressive start to his all new premier league 2010/2011 campagin.

Hard Luck Keith, I'm sure "Killer Keith" Will Be Back to his (TM) winning ways very soon!!! ;)

Cheers Jamie and nav. It keeps the league tight and more exciting. I probably go and lose to Chris winter next week as I can't stand playing the guy. He's more negatively charged than an electron. It took 10 phone calls to make a date and time with the guy. I can't stand playing the guy. Nothing against him personally just his style of play doesn't appeal to me.

I hear you got Keith tonight nav, good luck to both of you.

Also, many happy returns to you mike and hope you had a good birthday.
Cheers,

Bash

Good win bash against the dangerous mr holgate. Seems like your playing well again mate. Always good to see. You and Nav have opened up the whole league now with your wins. It's going to be a close one this season by the looks of things.

maqsood

We decided to play both these matches today.

We agreed to play the premier league first -  Result Bash 3 Chris 1:  Breaks Bash 59,47 and 40 and Chris with a 38.

we the played the notts open and Bash scrapped through again 3-1. breaks Bash 41 and Chris with a 47.

I did apologise to Chris for some of my comments and he accepted my apologies. All the best Chris and wishing you and mrs all the best for xmas and new year and most importantly may baby winters have a safe arrival to the world in the New year.

Cheers, bash

Hi Bash.

I've seen you play for several years now in the Notts 'amateur' scene and, luckily, I have only been on the end of a trouncing
only once.

I know, because of 'family' circumstances, you have been in and out of the game but I'm sure that now you appear to be more
committed you will be a prominent player in the Nottinghamshire, regional or national scenes in the years to come. (Please come
and play for Arnold).

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and you family AND all participants in the Notts Snooker scene

Hi Alan

Thanks for your comments.
Unfortunately, I am not wishing to play for any team at present. I can only spare one evening a week and I keep that for the premier league, which is the only match practice I get and find worthwhile and enjoyable. But thanks for your invite. On any case. All the best to you and all the "veterans" at the civil defence.
Cheers. Al

Premier League Result.

Gary Spencer 1 Bash Maqsood 3

A broken hand is better than a broken heart !!!

Any, this crucial encounter was a rather scrappy affair with the balls running a little awkward in most frames.

The first frame was very scrappy with both players just taking the points available and not risking much. Gary was 7 up with brown , blue pink & black left. there was some excellent safety on the brown and bash forced the error and took brown, blue and pink to take the frame.

Next frame was a strange one. Gary making the best break of the match a nice 57. Bash continued and need 5 snookers on the colours. Bash got some excellent snooker: i think i got about 10 of which gary escaped from 5 but missed 5. bash then needed all the colours to win by one. Potted yellow and green and rattled the brown, gary potted brown and blue to win the frame. My God was he relieved, he looked like he was about to kill someone when i managed my 5 snookers. anyway, that made it one each.

Next  frame again was fairly scrappy with bash building on just  a collection of small breaks and taking frame 3 with Gary conceding with one red left. Bash going 2-1 up.

Final frame was again scrappy with Gary blowing some good chances and bash just holding on and pinching it on the colours.

As gary said the conditions were shit with players constantly walking across your shot and the door opening all the time. Very, very off putting at the best of times but even more irritating when things are already not going your way. I tried to blank it out but it affected gary's game and you could see his frustration.

After the handshake, Gary let the wall know exactly how hard his punch is - the wall seemed ok - i just hope you havn't done any damage Gaz.

Next thing gaz was about to break his cue ( I'm not sure if he was actually going to do it) but i quickly took it off him to let him cool off. He then safely put it in his case.

It is a frustrating game and we all have to handle the up's and downs this beautiful games throws at us.

bad luck Gary - i think we both wanted to win this one to much.

Cheers all

Bash

The hand is fine mate nothing broken. I would rather vent my frustrations on a wall it gets it out my system. And no I wouldn't have snapped my cue. I get tempted every now and again but I won't do it. It's just so frustrating knowing what I'm capable of and just not able to find my form. Worse start to the new year I ever had. Lost so many games. I just need a break from the game. But well done bash you did well getting those snookers and I'm not normally to bad on getting out of them but everything just seems to have deserted me at present.
