A terrific match that went all the way to the final ball of the deciding frame.  Both players struggled with the table, but it was Stark who settled quicker, winning the first frame.  Mathers took the second on the black to level the match but Stark won the third comfortably with a 40 clearance (the highest break of the match) to go 2-1 ahead.  Stark looked odds on in the fourth but Mathers dug deep to pinch it, again on the black, to force a decider.  Mathers finally found some form in the deciding frame, knocking in a 34 break to give himself a healthy lead.  Stark then hit back and eventually reduced Mathers' lead to 12 points with pink and black left on the table.  Stark then potted the pink and left himself a tricky black along the top cushion which he took on but it rattled in the jaws leaving Mathers a sitter for the match, at which point Stark conceded.

Congratulations to Jamie Mathers on this fine win.  Presentation of the trophies will be made at the league's golf day and presentation dinner which will be held on Tuesday 7th July at Oakmere Park Golf Club.  All finalists will also be presented with a complimentary DVD of their match.
