If you have tried to arrange the match and Dan hasn't made a commitment to play, I think you get a walk over pal. Not sure though. Double check that but that would be 4-0 to you and 2 points.

It depends whether he tried to arrange the match before the 21st of August and then contacted Paul Wainwright to let him know about the problems he was having.  See the extract from the rules below (everyone who has entered for the winter has ticked a box to confirm that they have read the rules).

Claiming Matches
The deadline for all matches to be played is the last day of the month. All players should make initial contact with their opponents by the 20th of each month to arrange all matches due to be played. Should you have any problems trying to arrange any fixture you should contact Paul Wainwright no later than the 21st of each month, to inform him that your attempts to arrange a fixture have been unsuccessful. Failure to inform Paul Wainwright by the 21st will result in any matches not played by the end of that month being recorded as a 0-0 score-line. We will not accept any claims for matches if you have not contacted Paul Wainwright by the 21st of the month to indicate problems contacting your opponent. The NBSA Competitions Committee do not accept that initial contact made after the 21st of each month is a suitable amount of time for a fixture to be arranged.

Good decision Steve for players to tick a box saying they have read the rules. Reading & understanding them for some are 2 completely different things though lol. A step in the right direction though.

Same could be said about lots of others from the majority of the leagues. People try saying "it's the summer leagues & they really don't matter". Personally if people are going to take that attitude. Why enter!!! If you enter. Fulfill your fixtures. Simples
