Liam Highfield comfortably won June?s Under 21 Event, Potters, Coalville in his first appearance of the series defeating last years rankings Champion Stephen Craigie 3-0 in the final from 33 players.

Highfield also won the previous months Open Series at the club to extend his unbeaten run to nine matches.

Highfield straight in at 7th in the rankings from 61 entrants so far with Craigie now 4th, Alex Dunkley still leads heading Kyren Wilson and Nick Jennings closing on Wilson in 4th place, Nathan Jones slips to 5th.

Craigie led in the first frame with a break of 30 played safe from which Highfield drilled in a long red and made 54 to win the frame (73-36).
Early in the second frame Highfield made another break of 54 to secure a 2-0 lead (72-14).
Craigie led by a few points in the third frame but a sloppy in off with an easy snooker beckoning on the last red cost him the match eventually on the blue (51-29).

Highfield for once did not make many breaks to reach the final beating John Fountain 4-2 then Nathan Jones 4-1 breaking down on a maximum chance at 104.
In the quarter finals Highfield fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 down to beat Kyren Wilson who made a 50 break and came from 2-1 behind to beat Nick Jennings 3-2 in the last four, Highfield this time with a 50.

Day?s highest break
To reach his 2nd final of the series from 3 events entered Craigie struggled to beat Lee Shanker 4-3, Craigie 58, Shanker 54 defeated newcomer Ryan Mears 4-1, Craigie a 67 and the days highest effort 123.
Followed by a 4-2 win over Mitchell Mann, 50 break and finally Richard Binns 3-0 with runs of 64 and 72.

Binns a semi finalist in the last Grand Finals edged rankings leader Alex Dunkley 4-3 in the quarters helped by a 79 break to lead 3-2, Binns jumps fourteen places in the charts to 14th.

McGaw wins plate
After perhaps surprisingly losing 4-3 in the first round of the main event to Jake Nicholson, 15 who played well with runs of 43 and 61, Scott Mcgaw,20 went on to win the plate beating Michael Wasley 2-1 in less than 30 minutes in a sprint finish.

On his first appearance Dan Hildyard another player from the deep south
reached the last eight losing to fellow Hants player Jennings 4-1.
And youngster Alex Anastasiou reached the same stage of the plate for the first time in this age group.

Six breaks to win
Kyren Wilson had to make six breaks over forty 40,47,53,57,59 and 69 to beat Pontins semi finalist Luke Higginbotham 4-2.
