Reporting unacceptable player behaviour
I was disappointed last season to receive a number of complaints about some players, such as:
- Failure to turn up for matches
- Poor etiquette during a match
- Failure to communicate or poor communication when arranging matches
- Excessive talking / moaning during a match
- Threatening and/or intimidating behaviour
- Cheating (scoreboard issues)
- Submitting a match result when a match hadn’t been played
We know that the majority of Nottingham Snooker players are totally professional in their approach to matches, gracious in defeat and humble in victory. However, the small minority who continually exhibit any or all of the above, are not welcome to play in our leagues and tournaments. With this in mind, we are introducing a complaint form from the start of the 2025/26 season.
You will find the Complaint Form on the Contact page of the Nottingham Snooker website. Please use it if you witness any behaviour that you feel is unacceptable. The offending player(s) will be dealt with swiftly and fairly by myself and my fellow organisers, Wayne Martin and Jon Shapland.
Everyone starts the 2025/26 season with a clean slate. Please be on your best behaviour in the coming season.
Here are some useful links that may help you improve your snooker etiquette, particularly useful for players who are relatively new to competitive snooker, but also a timely reminder for everyone:
Above all, please enjoy your snooker, it’s only a game!
