It was a busy day yesterday with 8 matches played and no fewer than 5 of those matches requiring final frame deciders.

Andrew Diacopoulos took a 1-0 lead against Keith Holgate but Keith levelled the match at 1-1 with the help of a 49 break. Keith could have won the third but a costly error resulted in Andrew taking the frame to lead 2-1. Andrew then won the fourth frame in convincing fashion to seal the match 3-1 and climb up to 4th position on the Ladder. That's Andrew's tenth win in a row and having started in 63rd position he has climbed a massive 59 places, very impressive.

Martin Conway held on to 10th position with his fourth win in five matches, a 3-1 reverse of Danny Ould who stays in 18th.

Mark Taylor travelled to Ivanhoe in Ashby to take on 14th placed Antony Moore. Mark got off to a great start, making a 37 break, but Antony got back into the frame on the colours and went 1-0 up after fluking the black. The second frame was close again and Antony potted a great blue and pink, but the cueball finished close to the black. He rolled it and left it in the jaws for Mark to pot and level at 1-1. Mark potted well in frame three and won it on the brown with Antony missing too many chances, 2-1 to Mark. It loooked all over in the fourth frame with mark having a 35 break to go 38 points ahead with 51 remaining. Antony somehow clung on and managed to take the frame on the pink, levelling the match once more at 2-2. Both players missed chances in the decider and it inevitably came down to the colours. It looked like Antony was going to win, clearing green, brown and blue, leaving just the pink for the match. But he missed the pink leaving mark a chance to steal. Mark potted the pink but failed to get on the black. Some very good safety followed, but Mark then left a long black for Antony, which he potted with his best shot of the night. A terrific match and a superb 3-2 win for Antony!

Selina Dean secured an excellent 3-2 victory against Kevin Henson and she climbs to 49th position. That's Selina's fourth win in five matches and she has already climbed 16 places since signing up to the Ladder.

Wayne Smith and Patrick Hort were involved in a titanic battle. Patrick won the first frame as Wayne struggled to find the pace of the table. Wayne then started to improve, making breaks of 26 and 24 to take the second frame and then following it up in frame three with runs of 29 and 22 to go 2-1 up. In the fourth frame Wayne accidentally touched a red with his finger and he very sportingly declared the foul as Patrick didn't see it. Patrick went on to win the frame to level the match at 2-2. Patrick had a nice 32 break in the next frame but Wayne had a good run of 35 and he managed to win it, going 3-2 up. Patrick came right back in the next, a scrappy frame which he won to level at 3-3 and force a decider. Wayne ended up 7 points in front with pink and black remaining. Patrick then missed the pink completely, leaving Wayne 13 up with 13 on. Wayne potted a lovely long pink to win another very close match. He climbs to 47th position with his third straight win.

Lee Thorn had to come back from behind three times to edge yet another close match 4-3 against his challenger Mark Hayman. That puts an end to Mark's 100% record and Lee holds on to 37th position.

Dan Moll required a deciding frame to beat Mick Garratt 2-1 at Spot On Sneinton. A good win - his third in a row - that sees Dan move up to 21st position.

The final match of the day saw Ellis Abbott maintain his 100% record with a good 3-1 win against Dean North. Ellis - who had a couple of 30+ breaks in this match - climbs to 56th position.
