Open Singles Snooker Championship

Three-time Open Singles champion Keith Holgate is out of this season's championship after losing 0-3 at home to Andrew Diacopoulos, the 2015 champion. There were no breaks over 50, but plenty in the 30s.

Also joining Andrew in the quarter-finals is Jim Harrison who beat Cary Davies 3-0 at Spot On Sneinton. Jim made a 49 break which, by his own admission, should have been a lot more.

Seniors Championship

Dave Jobling started well against Steve D'Arcy, racing into a 2-0 lead. But Steve then found some form, winning the third and fourth frames to level the match at 2-2. The decider was a tactical affair and Dave found himself needing a snooker on the pink, which he successfully laid and then potted the pink to leave a black ball finish. Steve missed his first attempt at the black, but fortunately left some distance between the balls. Dave then unfortunately went in-off the black to hand the 3-2 victory to Steve. Not many players go to Dave's place and come away with a win, so well done Steve!
