Notts Amateur Snooker Championship

Steve Donner beat Patrick Ashurst 3-1 with the help of a 52 break, to secure a place in the Last 16 of the Championship. Patrick - who made a 40 break in his first visit to the table - didn't do a lot wrong in a high quality match at Triple S Snooker Club.

Senior Handicap Snooker Championship

Sam Burton came close to beating two-time champion Wayne Martin last night. Wayne led 2-0 and had a brown for the match in the third frame, but after missing it Sam cleared up to reduce the deficit to one frame. With Sam leading by 43 points in the fourth frame, Wayne made a lovely 51 break before Sam cleared the colours to level the match at 2-2. The deciding frame was extremely tight, but Wayne managed to pot match ball pink for a well earned victory.
