Notts Amateur Snooker Championship

Defending champion Keith Holgate is through to the semi-finals of this season's championship, but it was tough going against his experienced opponent, Terry Dowson. The Spot On 2 player went 1-0 up after Keith conceded when needing snookers on the green. A 42 break from Keith in the second frame was enough to level the match at 1-1. Terry went 20 points ahead in the next but he snookered himself after potting the black and was forced to play safe. Keith then clicked into gear, making a lovely 62 clearance to take a 2-1 lead. A tight fourth frame went to Terry to set up a tense decider. Terry had a chance to win the match but he missed the final brown when trying to hold position for the blue and Keith did the business when it mattered to seal a 3-2 victory.
