Champion of Champions finalist Patrick Ashurst narrowly held on to 4th position with a 3-2 victory over Danny Ould. A high quality deciding frame saw Danny go favourite after making a 40 break, but Patrick replied with a run of 46 which helped him on the way to a great win. That's now five successive wins for Patrick who is enjoying a rich vein of form.

Mick Garratt was another player who won a close match to hold on to his place. His challenger, Alan Caulton, won the first frame with the help of a fluke on the pink followed by a treble on the black, no doubt a contender for shot of the season! Mick enjoyed a run of the balls in the second frame, which he won to level the match at 1-1. A nice 42 break from Alan followed in frame three as he went 2-1 up. The next two frames were shared to see Alan lead 3-2 but Mick potted some good balls and had a nice 28 break as he went on to win the match 4-3. Matches don't get much closer than this. That's Mick's third win in five matches and he remains 27th.

Martin Conway had a terrific 3-0 win against Darryl Clarke that catapults him into the top 16 for the first time. Martin - who has climbed a total of 38 places from 51st to 13th - is now the highest placed player from Alfreton Snooker Club and in line to win the end of season Club Bonus.
