Intermediate Handicap Snooker Championship

Richard Sutton has reached the semi-finals thanks to a 2-1 victory over Mohsin Faiz. Mohsin potted well in the first frame and was 25 points ahead with only 22 left on the table. Richard got the snooker he needed and it went to a black ball game, which Mohsin eventually potted to take a 1-0 lead. Mohsin continued to pot well and after a break of 22 he was 25 points ahead with 27 remaining and looking favourite to win the match. But Richard brilliantly cleared the colours to level the match at 1-1. In the decider Richard had a run of 24 and was well ahead when Mohsin condeded frame and match after richard sank the last red. A terrific comeback by Richard but a great effort by Mohsin who came so close.

Junior Handicap Snooker Championship

Selina Dean is the first player through to this season's final after she edged a very close match 2-0 against Nottingham Snooker Classic champion Richard Amalou. Both frames went right down to the black but Selina managed to control her nerves to pot the crucial frame and match balls. This tournament was last won by Mick Garratt in 2019 and we are guaranteed to get a new name on the trophy this year. The Junior Championship has a long history dating back to when it was run by the Nottingham and Notts Institutes Association. The earliest recorded winner was Mr E Jackson way back in 1949.
