Bodle on top form as Derbyshire win again

Another great contest between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire at Cueball Derby.

Derbyshire took an early lead and at the half way stage they were a good 20 frames clear.  Notts rallied to a brief comeback and closed the gap to just 11 frames, but Derbyshire proved too strong and held their nerve to clinch victory with a 106-90 scoreline.

Derbyshire’s Jamie Bodle was on fire throughout the day, racking up a county record of no less than 3 century breaks, topping out with a fantastic 124.  Bodle was also Derbyshires’s strongest player, winning 13 out of the 14 frames he played.  Quite rightly he was presented with both Derbyshire’s Highest Break & Man Of The Match trophies.

Nottinghamshire’s Guy Dennis took the trophy for Nottinghamshire’s Highest Break thanks to a smooth 74 break and also the Man of the Match trophy in recognition of his 11 winning frames.
