Wayne Martin successfully defends his Holgates Masters title

Wayne Martin defeated Richard Wheelhouse 4-0 to retain the Holgates Masters title and get his name on the trophy for the third time.

Frame 1
Wayne 58-0 Richard
Wayne got off to a flying start, getting a four point penalty and then proceeding to make a break of 54 to lead 1-0.

Frame 2
Wayne 58-0 Richard
Wayne getting Richard in trouble with some solid safety. Again, Wayne making a solid break of 58 to win the frame and go 2-0 ahead.

Frame 3
Wayne 76-32 Richard
A much closer frame, mistakes from Wayne while Richard was still getting the feel of the table. It came down to the colours and Wayne made a solid clearance to go 3-0 up and one frame from victory.

Frame 4
Wayne 65-63 Richard
An early lead of 20 points for Wayne but Richard now getting amongst the balls following safety mistakes from Wayne. A solid 35 break put Richard 25 in front with 27 in the table. Back came Wayne, taking yellow and green. With tremendous pots on the brown, blue and pink Wayne was back in it with just the black left. Richard left a long black and Wayne duly potted a great long black to take the frame and match 4-0.
