Joe Jogia pockets £120 in Bulwell Open victory

Leicester’s Joe Jogia did not drop a frame as he won the Bulwell Open Snooker Tournament on Sunday together with the £110 first prize and the £10 high break prize. Jogia won the best of 5 frame final 3-0 in under 40 minutes, helped by breaks of 70, 61 and 59. It was an awesome display which his opponent in the final, Jordan Geldard, could do nothing about. Geldard took home the £50 runners-up prize.
Naser Hussain had a good day, earning himself £20 for reaching the semi-finals. In the other semi-final, Mark Hird played well, running Jogia closer than the 2-0 scoreline suggests. In a practise frame prior to the final, Hird made a terrific 90 break which was luckily caught on film.
Plate Tournament
Lee Crombie who finished runner-up in the recent Spot-on Charity Tournament, picked up the £30 first prize for winning the plate. However he was pushed all the way by the impressive youngster Andrew Foster (£15) who only just lost on the black.
