October on the Ladder

Well I think we all knew that Covid-19 restrictions would be imposed at some point during the season and so it was that from 14th October 2020 play was suspended on the Ladder.

But fear not, because it’s one of the reasons why I elected not to charge an entry fee this season. I also devised the rules in such a way that would allow for temporary suspensions of the Ladder. It will be easy to resume from where we left off once the current restrictions are lifted.

During October, 3 new players signed up, increasing the number of players competing on the Ladder to 45.

Up until play was suspended, things were progressing nicely and I have received plenty of positive feedback from players who were enjoying this new competition.

Let’s hope we are able to get things going again in December, or at the very latest, early in the new year…

• A junior is any player who is under 19 years old on 1st September 2020

Q School Bonus

• The Q School Bonus will be paid into your bank account as soon as you have played your first match in Q School 2021
• The Q School Bonus is paid in addition to main prize money and any other bonuses that may apply

Payment of Prize Money

If all of the bonuses are unlocked by the end of the season, Nottingham Snooker stands to pay out a total of £1,290 in prize money.

Prize money will be paid directly into your bank account after the season ends. The TD will contact you to advise you how much you have won and he will seek to obtain your bank details. If no bank details are provided you will not receive your prize money. Under no circumstances will prize money be paid out in cash or cheque.

If you think you stand a chance of winning one or more of the bonuses on offer, make sure you read the terms and conditions for the specific bonus(es) and try to ensure that all of those conditions have been met by the end of the season. For example, if there are not at least 3 other players signed up from your club, try to encourage some more players to sign up to the Ladder.

Examples of why bonuses may not be paid out:

Club Bonus

• Less than 4 players have signed up from your club.
• 4 players have signed up from your club, but they have not all played a minimum of 4 matches each.
• You finished above all other players from your club, but you did not play all of your Defences from that club

Age Group Bonus

• There are less than 4 players signed up in your age group.
• 4 players have signed up in your age group, but they have not all played a minimum of 4 matches each.

Lucky Boy’s Bonus

• You did not play all of your Defences on your own table.

Junior Bonus

• There are less than 4 Junior players signed up.
• 4 junior players have signed up, but they have not all played a minimum of 4 matches each.

Q School Bonus

• The player who qualified for the Q School Bonus (the one who finished 1st on the Ladder) did not go on to play in Q School 2021.
