Nottingham Snooker to sponsor new County team

Nottingham Snooker is proud to announce that we will be one of the sponsors of the brand new Nottinghamshire and Amber Valley Snooker Team during the 2021/22 ENCSC season.

The ENCSC – or English National County Snooker Championship to give it it’s full title – was launched on 20 August 2017.

Here is a summary of our teams’ achievements in the ENCSC to date.

Season 2017/18

The first season saw Nottinghamshire enter two teams, Notts A and Notts B. Neither side made it past the group stages in that inaugural ENCSC season, which was dominated by Merseyside whose A and B sides captured both the Gold and Silver titles.

Season 2018/19

Nottinghamshire only entered a B team for the second season of the ENCSC. It proved to be a good season as the team reached the Silver Championship final where they lost out to Merseyside B 19-33. The team was awarded prize money of £200 for finishing runners-up.

Shropshire & West Midlands took the Gold Championship title.

Season 2019/20

The 2019/20 season continued through to September 2021 due to a suspension in play caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nottinghamshire only entered an A team for this third ENCSC season. Despite the delay in play, the team had a successful season, reaching the Gold Championship final where they were up against a very strong Merseyside A team. Sadly the Notts team lost 24-33, but there was some good play, with a 136 break from Ashley Walker one of the highights.

Merseyside C won the Silver Championship title.

Season 2021/22

The fourth ENCSC season will feature a Nottinghamshire A team captained by Ben Monk and a Nottinghamshire & Amber Valley team captained by Stuart Wheatley.

Nottingham Snooker will be reporting on both teams’ progress throughout the season.

The format for the above group matches is as follows.

Teams will consist of 8 players.

Therefore a total of 48 frames will be played.

Good luck to both teams!
