Lenton power into the lead after week 2

Monday Team League

Week two of the Winter season cemented the great start for last seasons winners Lenton Liberal Club.

This week they were 5-1 winners against new side Carlton B.

However, it’s a very close behind them with the next 4 teams only 3 points behind and cup week next week.

BCI AJ 1 vs 5 BCI Hot Shots

This BCI Derby going to the newly formed BCI Hot Shots, defeating summer league champions BCI AJ by 5- frames to 1.

Notable wins for Kwok Yip, James Robinson, and Tony Collins. The Hot Shots move up into joint second in the table.

Carlton A 2 vs 4 The Venue

The Venue have started the new campaign strongly and were too strong on the night against Carlton A.

Andy Wain and Don Merry winning the critical scotch pairs frame against Kev Barlow and Carlton captain James Baillie.

Carlton A are mid table now though and only a point behind joint second place.

Lenton Liberal 5 vs 1 Carlton B

Last season’s champs were again in good form, solid wins for Phil Connelly, Danial Kamran and in the scotch pairs with captain Jon Shapland in taking 5 points from this match.

Only Danny Di Folco winning a frame for Carlton B.

Lenton top the table now with two wins from two games.

BCI B 2 vs 4 Triple S

Title favourites Triple S winning their first game of the season by way of wins for Dave Bolton, Tony Morgan and a high scoring pairs frame from Bolton and Steve Donner.

Marc Morrisey and Paul Wainwright Snr winning singles frames for BCI B.

Tony Morgan made a 32 break in his singles win against Liam Morrisey followed by a combined break of 37 by Donner and Bolton in the pairs frame.

Spot on Hucknall 4 vs 2 The Towers

The final match of the week involved two teams that are normally challenging for the title come the end of the season.

This time it was Spot On who came out on top with the help of a 41 break during the scotch pairs frame by Ben Cooper and Wayne Martin.

There were also good wins for Joe Reynolds and Ben Cooper at singles for Spot On with Andy Taylor and Dan Moll both contributing for The Towers.

Its still very early in the season but Lenton are the team to beat.
