Lenton take the top spot back, Triple S ominously move into 2nd

Lenton Liberal 5 v 1 The Venue

Lenton Liberal produced an inspired result to take back the top spot in the league by defeating The Venue 5-1.

Phil Connolly and Danial Kamran inflicting defeats to the Rainworth team at singles and pairs.

The Venues Don Merry winning their only frame of the evening and seeing the team drop to 4^th in the league after being top last week.

Triple S 6 v 0 Carlton B

Skegby team Triple S move into second position in the league with a comprehensive win over Carlton B.

Wins for Tony Morgan, Martin Conway, Steve Donner, and Keith Waterhouse doing the damage and putting them right in contention.

Tony Morgan added to his growing tally of breaks this season with another great contribution, this time a 37.

BCI B 3 v 3 BCI AJ

It ended all square in the BCI derby with a very tight contest at Bulwell.

Jacob Reynolds getting BCI AJ off to a good start before BCI B’s Marc Morrisey evened things up.

A solid win for Reynolds and Talvin Mudhar put BCI AJ in the driving seat.

BCI B are made of stern stuff and back they came with wins for Paul Broad and Paul Wainwright Snr and evened the contest up.

Spot On Hucknall 5 v 1 BCI Hotshots

The final match of the week ended in a good win for Spot on Hucknall.

However, it was much tighter than the scoreline suggests.

Patrick Ashurst got Hucknall off to a great start, a clearance of 43 against Tony Collins putting the Hucknall side 1-0 up.

Back came Bulwell. Josh Morley dishing out a long potting lesson to Hucknall’s Wayne Martin to even things up.

A tight pairs frame ensued, and it was Hucknall who came through on the last 3 colours to go 3-1 up.

Daz Clarke then tightened the screw for Hucknall in a superb frame with Josh Morley. Both players making 20 breaks before Clarke sealed the frame.

Last frame of the evening saw Bulwell’s super experienced Kwok Yip go 44 points in front against Wayne Martin.

However, Martin came back with a solid 53 break and then sealed the frame a few shots later.

This take Hucknall up into 3^rd place, chasing the leaders.

The Towers v Carlton A was postponed but will no doubt have an impact on the league positions.

Its very tight in the league and one big win can move a team up.
