Andrew Diacopoulos defeated Patrick Ashurst 4-1 to take the Gold Handicap title. Andrew was conceding 14 points start per frame.

Match Report

Frame 1
Patrick making the most of his handicap and building a 20 point lead. Andrew coming back, catching up before getting control and getting 19 in front in the colours. Some solid single ball pots giving Andrew the first frame.

Frame 2
A scrappy frame, Andrew building a lead. Solid safety from both players. Andrew making the most of his opportunities. A mistake on the final blue by Patrick putting Andrew 2-0 up.

Frame 3
Patrick early 28 point lead. Andrew fighting back but not making much headway. Another 20 plus from Patrick putting him in a commanding position to win the frame. A snooker off a fluked red paving the way for 34 more points and the frame. Patrick now trails 2-1.

Frame 4
Another cagey start to the frame. Patrick gradually building a lead but not really leaving Andrew in. A stunning long range red down the cushion getting Andrew back in the frame. Down to the final black and Andrew slots it home to go 3-1 up.

Frame 5
Early lead for Patrick thanks to a fluked red. Andy back in the frame following a mid twenties break. Patrick then immediately in with 24 to move ahead. Good safety from Andrew then generates the chance he has been waiting for to get ahead in the frame. A terrific brown and blue then provides the opportunity to win the match. He makes no mistake and takes the match 4-1.
