Towers win clash of the titans to go second!!!

Monday Team League

The Towers defeated Triple S 3-2 to move into second place outright.

Also, the Mansfield side have two games in hand on top side Hucknall.

This is going to be a very close finish to the season.

The Towers 3 v 2 Triple S

Towers were in great form this week, Andy Diacopoulos particularly as he made breaks of 66 and 58 in winning both his singles frames.

Andy Taylor also got in on the act for Towers to win the tie for his side.

Consolation wins for Triple S with Adam Clift and the pairing of Dowson and Mullis in the pairs, taking two points and leaving their side in third place.

Carlton Liberal 1 v 4 Spot on Hucknall

Hucknall got the win here, but it was far from what the scoreline suggested.

Carlton’s Rob Walker dismantled Wayne Martin to put his team one up.

James Bailie was so close to putting Carlton two up, he had Ben Cooper in all sorts of trouble.

Hucknall’s Cooper is a fighter though, he got the snookers he needed and then potted crucial pink and black to level things up.

Daz Clarke, Ellis Abbot, and Wayne Martin then completed the win with close victories over Kev Barlow and Rob Walker.

This puts Hucknall 15 points clear at the top but its afar from being over with Towers having games in hand.

They also meet in the final match of the season.

BCI AJ 5 v 0 Belvedere

BCI AJ scored a whitewash and maximum 10-point win with their win over Newark’s Belvedere Club.

Captain Ash Field and Shaun Kilkie won 5 close frames on the night that moves them up the league t o7th spot.

Lenton Liberal 3 v 2 BCI Hotshots

In the final game this week it was again Lenton taking home the spoils and keeping them in 4^th place.

Wins for Craig Bishop and captain Jon Shapland getting them over the line from being 2 nil down against the Hotshots.

BCI will be ruing the chance here as they were in a commanding position in this game.

The loss leaves the Hotshots in 5^th place in the league.
