The Towers and Triple S have whitewash wins to close the gap on Spot on Hucknall

We are getting close to the final week of the winter season, and it looks like its going all the way to the wire for the league championship title.

With one week to go The Towers look to be best placed, they are 5 points behind Spot on Hucknall, have a game in hand and are at home against Hucknall next week.

The final match will probably determine who wins the championship this year.

Triple S 5 v 0 BCI Hotshots

Triple S were again in fine form this week, carving out a whitewash to the BCI Hotshots and closing the gap at the top of the league.

Fantastic wins across the matches from Terry Dowson and Rob Mullis.

This leaves the Skegby team in third place with one game to go and eleven points behind Hucknall now.

BCI AJ 4 v 1 Lenton Liberal

BCI AJ got the shock result of the week, turning over fourth placed Lenton Liberal with a great 4 – 1 win.

A solid all-round performance with wins for Jacob Reynolds, Shaun Kilkie and captain Ash Field across the singles games.

Lenton took a consolation point from the pairs frame. AJ remain in sixth place with Lenton in fourth.

Carlton Liberal 3 v 2 Belvedere

Carlton moved up the league this week with a good win against Belvedere.

Richard Sutton was in fine form this week and was also joined by Rob Walker who got the points for Carlton.

Ben Reed & Tom Carpenter won the pairs frame and Belvedere captain Chris Dent picking up the other point from his singles victory.

The Towers 5 v 0 Spot on Sneinton

This week’s final match saw The Towers turn in another consistent performance and put them within touching distance of the league summit.

Great wins across the formats for Lea Bradshaw, Andy Diacopoulos and Bob Gould against the Sneinton team of Nick Sharp and Terry Thompson.

The Towers have a game in hand against Belvedere which could see them top the league going into the title decider with Spot on Hucknall.

Whatever happens we are going down to the final week of the season.
