Nav Hussain is crowned 2021 Masters Champion

Nav Hussain defeated Steve Butler 4-1 in the final on Sunday evening to be crowned The Masters champion 2021. Nav takes home a nice trophy plus £100 for the victory.

Steve got off to a strong start, making a 58 break to take the first frame. But Nav then exhibited a fine display of heavy scoring with breaks of 31, 38, 37 and 45 to win the next four frames and secure victory.

Semi-Finals
Steve Butler 4-2 Dale Prime

Steve Butler progressed to the final with a less than convincing 4-2 victory over Dale Prime. Other than Steve’s 41 break in the opening frame, there were no other breaks of any note and overall it was scrappy affair.
Dale adapted to the table pretty quickly but it just wasn’t his day.

Nav Hussain 4-3 Wayne Martin

Nav started the match strongly, racing into a 2-0 lead with the help of a 49 break. Wayne hit back in style, levelling the match at 2-2 with a fantastic 108 clearance. Nav dug deep to lead 3-2 before Wayne forced the decider, taking a scrappy 6th frame. Nav got in early in the decider, knocking in a 38 break which started from a fluke. Wayne never recovered and Nav sealed the 4-3 victory.

The opening match of the tournament was a relatively scrappy affair from which Steve emerged victorious with a 3-0 score line.

Wayne Martin 3-1 Danny Ould

The 2012 Masters runner-up Wayne Martin got off to a strong start in this year’s Masters with a 3-1 victory that included breaks of 44 and 71. His opponent Danny Ould played well in patches but Wayne’s big scoring proved decisive in the end.

Nav Hussain defeated Tony Morgan 3-2 in a very close quarter-final. It was a struggle for both players with the balls falling awkward often and breaks being hard to come by.
