BCI B remain winless despite getting off to a good start against Welcome Institute

Shaun Kilkie got BCI B off to a good start against Welcome Institute, winning both of his frames. Paul Wainwright Snr also took a frame off Martin Caunt. But they turned out to be the only frames to go their way as Martin Conway and Peter White both won 2-0 to complete a good comeback for the Welcome. Welcome move up to 6th after securing their first win of the season and BCI B remain rooted to the foot of the table.
The Towers also had a good 5-3 away win against a strong Phoenix side that included the 1997 Notts Amateur Snooker Championship finalist Steve Capewell who made the week’s highest break of 73. Dan Moll won a crucial frame against Sam Burton, just one point the difference and also the difference between a win and a draw for the team from Mansfield.
Spot On Hucknall maintained their 100% start to the season, but they were made to work for it with Tim Hudson impressing for the visitors. It’s been a mixed start so far for BCI Masters who have won one, drawn one and lost one. It’s a local derby next week for them as they take on BCI B who will be keen to get their first points on the board.
