The Towers end Hucknall’s unbeaten record and go top of the table

Tuesday Team League

It’s all change in the Tuesday Team League with changes at the top and bottom of the league with only a handful of games left to play.

The Towers continued their impressive form with a solid win against previously unbeaten Spot On Hucknall. The Towers team just proving too strong on the night and winning 5-3 to top the league. Great match ups between Andy Diacopoulos (48 break), Ben Cooper (43 break), Rob Mulliss, Patrick Ashurst, Bob Gould and Wayne Martin that all ended in draws. Lee Bradshaw was the star of the show for The Towers though, he was in great form and won his two frames against Daz Clarke in fine style for the Mansfield team to take them to the summit of the league.

Elsewhere Arnold Civil Defence put on a great show with their 5-3 win over BCI B. John Fountain making a superb 90 break (his second 90+ break of the season) to help move Arnold up the league. Shaun Kilkie was on form for BCI B, he made breaks of 30 and 25 in his two frames to overcome James Notman. But wins for James Kelly and Pete Ogburn did the damage in the end for Arnold CD.

Welcome Institute continued their winning way with a good victory against BCI Masters, taking the spoils 5-3 at BCI. Martin Conway and Rick Else (pictured) winning their matches 2 nil against Ash Field and Al Shaw respectively. Draws for Martin Caunt and Vinnie Dennis cementing the result and keeping them fourth in the league (Phoenix have played one more game).

Final match of the night had a little bit of needle following the previous match between these two sides and it was Phoenix Cue Sports once again getting the result and keeping them 3^rd in the league. Wins for Sam Burton and Ash Bettinson doing the early damage against Manfred Corbin and Cary Davies respectively. Ben Monk and Keith Waterhouse bringing the result home with draws against Moe Anyanwu and Rob/Mick Garrett.

It’s the final week next week apart from the outstanding matches that need rearranging.

Can I please request that the captains get these played as soon as possible, I’d like to have these games all played by Monday 13^th March so we can get trophies awarded.
