Nottinghamshire A are through to the Gold Championship final

Notts A, captained by Ben Monk, are through to the final of this season’s Gold Championship thanks to an excellent victory over Shropshire & West Midlands in the semi-final.

Notts raced into an early lead which they maintained for most of the match, however Shropshire eventually pulled it back to 27-27. In a tense finale John Fountain held his nerve to win both of his frames and secure the team’s place in the final.

Notts will meet Merseryside A in the final which is to be played at Landywood Snooker Centre in Walsall on Sunday 18 June 2023 at 11.00am. Spectators are welcome to attend.

Sadly, Notts & Amber Valley, who are captained by Stuart Wheatley, lost 21-35 in their Silver Championship semi-final to a very good Derbyshire side. But they had a good run and the highlight of the semi-final was Dave Bolton’s magnificent 140 clearance. Well done Dave!
